Supply Guarantee Program

Why it exists

Selecting hardware that becomes obselete or EoL in a few months causes real technical risk. Technical excellence of a product is not enough, the supply chain and company behind building it must also be rock solid. We setup the Supply Guarantee Program to assure that covered hardware remain available long-term and won't become obsolete or change drastically over multiple years.

High-volume production

Hardware covered under this program are manufactured in high volume, typically exceeding 2,000 units per batch, with failure rates below 0.5% — enabling quick stock replenishment. The design, manufacture and supply chain of every component is well understand and tracked by our operations team to ensure we can keep building it for years.

Mature, tested design

Covered products are at least 2 years old in terms of design, with 1,000s in active service. We know how to make these products at scale, and we've observed minimal bugs or design flaws in the field from customer use.

5-year lifetime guarantee

We offer a minimum 5-year lifetime guarantee from the release date of each board. We have renewed this commitment every year since 2021.

BotBlox Strategic Chip Reserve

We physically store up to 18 months of the core components needed to build these boards: a strategy that maintained continuous supply through the 2020–2023 chip shortage. We call this our strategic chip reserve. The chips we use are all active and not end of life.

Constant Stock Auditing in ERP

We use ERP to professionally manage stock levels, and run automated and manual checks on stock levels frequently. This often means we can predict when a product will be out of stock, allowing us to start a new manufacture batch to prevent the shortage. When a part is out of stock (due to an unforeseen demand), we can replenish our stock within 6-8 weeks.

Our Own Designs

All BotBlox products are our own design. From the schematics, PCB, firmware, source code, BoM; we design all our own products from scratch and know how to make them at scale. This allows us to quickly adapt when a specific chip or component does go out of stock. We can make rapid part substitutions that don't affect fit, form or function of the final product.
